About The Project
The Client
Australian Kayaking Adventures is the longest-running kayaking company on the Gold Coast, in operation for over 17 years. They specialise in running kayaking and snorkeling tours throughout the surrounding Gold Coast islands and waterways.
Catering to both corporate and school groups, as well as domestic and international tourists, they aim to educate their customers about the marine life and history of the Gold Coast.
The new brand aims to reflect the fun and vibrant nature of their tours, while still remaining relevant to their vast target market, and immersing their clientele in the best of what the Gold Coast has to offer.
The Solution
With a distinguishable icon and graphic styling, we can create a relationship between the branding elements and photography. Weaving a graphic element, and or overlaying a solid graphic over photography will tie in the playfulness and vibrancy into every aspect of the brand. See our mockups below!
The Icon: We began the logo exploration by crafting a striking, yet simple icon to assist the wordmark. It is bold and strong enough to stand alone, yet compliments the wordmark elegantly. The icon is crafted from the company acronym – AKA – in a creative, modern and high-quality aesthetic. The contemporary and slightly abstract kayak icon is fun and impactful while remaining minimal and clean. The result is a trusted brand icon that can be used across all collateral.
The Wordmark: The wordmark is a bold and contemporary font, with unique features that convey a fun, safe and trustworthy brand. The friendly and welcoming letterforms are slightly rounded, soft and fluid depicting a dependable and high-quality appearance.

Australian Kayaking Adventures website accurately represents the fluidity and bright, coastal colour palette the re-brand displays. We designed and developed this website to display the pride in which Gold Coast’s original and best kayaking tour company has to offer. We ensured the new website is SEO friendly, Google optimised for performance, and user friendly for navigating and booking a tour.
Branding
For the branding, we envisaged a fun and playful wordmark and icon logo, with minimal, clean lines representing the subtle and fluid motions of water. This then created a noteworthy brand that stands out against competitors while appealing to both the playful tourist nature and corporate, mature audiences.
